Support groups are led by our professional staff and are offered as a free service to any person with cancer in our community. Support groups provide education and support for cancer patients and their loved ones.In addition to providing expert cancer care, Providence Cancer Institute provides an extra dimension of care through our many support services and cancer resources. Cancer rehabilitation combines evidence-based cancer rehabilitation practices with services to address side effects and symptoms.Palliative care is a type of health care that focuses on improving your physical, emotional and spiritual health while you receive cancer treatment giving special attention to relieving pain and other distressing symptoms.Programs and services include acupuncture, chiropractic medicine, naturopathy, therapeutic massage and more. Integrative medicine offers an excellent complement to conventional medicine to help patients achieve optimal health.Our registered dietitians specialize in cancer nutrition and are here to help. Cancer and cancer treatments can affect the way your body tolerates certain foods and uses nutrients. Learn more about what an oncology social worker can do for you. Providence cancer patients and their families can benefit from our social work services. Oncology social workers are trained counselors who help patients and families cope with the emotional stresses and practical concerns associated with cancer.The compassionate guidance of nurse navigators has been shown to improve treatment outcomes for patients. Oncology nurse navigators work directly with your oncologists, surgeons, and care team to help you better understand and follow your treatment plans.Our team is inspired by our patients, and this encourages us to strive for excellence in meeting your needs. Oncology certified social workers support your psychosocial needs and provide resources and support for your emotional and practical needs.Schedulers coordinate your appointments for return visits with our providers, infusion treatments, radiology, radiation oncology, physical therapy and other services.

Financial coordinators will help with insurance referrals, authorizations and financial assistance.Oncology-certified nurses educate patients on their disease process and treatment plan.Board-certified medical oncologists provide care at the forefront of medical technology and research, and they can provide patients access to many innovative clinical trials.

Please contact Dave Houglum, Franz Center, at you would like to participate, want to nominate a colleague, or need more information, by Friday, July 27.With expert advice, honest answers and experienced care, our board-certified medical oncologists and hematologists offer strong and steady support to patients with cancer and blood disorders during treatment and beyond.Īt Providence Cancer Institute, we use a full team of cancer specialists to work closely with patients and their families to diagnose and treat cancer. We are able to include only exempt (salaried) employees in this program at this time.


After completing the leadership training, Leadership Fellows serve as leadership instructors and coaches in the Leader Certificate program and earn a stipend of up to $2,500 for their teaching or coaching. There have been over 100 faculty and staff from across the university who have been trained as Leadership Fellows and the Franz Center is seeking to include 40 additional faculty and staff who will begin their training next fall. The Franz Center is providing free leadership training and development during the 2018-19 academic year for faculty and staff who want to learn more about becoming a Leadership Fellow.
